My manager is: Property service director ? Work Level 3

My job is:
To deliver best value and affordable schemes for Tesco through reviewing, influencing and adjusting the activities of the planning and construction teams to help them meet the Long Term Plan growth targets and provide the right stores for our customers.

To manage the development of feasibility and construction costs for new stores and other store projects with the aim of achieving best value to help Property Acquisition and Development Managers meet the growth plans of the Long Term Plan and provide the right stores for our customers.

-am a Work Level 2 because:
-run an operating unit, juggling competing steering wheel requirements to deliver a balanced set of results, often by managing and leading the work of people, departments and processes
-support my team to deliver service and / or manager other resources to deliver service using analysis and judgement

-spend
25 % of my time checking reports for Property Acquisition Group and Property Acquisition Committee
20 % of my time completing budgets, cost reporting and identifying trend analysis
20 % of my time leading strategic cost saving initiatives
20 % of my time working with Property Acquisitions on upstream schemes
15 % of my time leading and coaching my team

-know I've done a great job if:
-develop robust processes so that all scheme budgets are accurate and deliverable when presented to the Board for approval
My team and -identify opportunities to reduce build costs year on year by making business capital more productive
-manage my team to accurately reflect cost during store development projects
-implement step change projects to deliver ‘Build for Less’ capital expenditure savings
-manage consultants to consistently deliver high standards and provide accurate and best advice
-improve the capability of my team by coaching and training them to deliver the Operating Model
-can articulate the known customer drivers for my schemes
If the original feasibility budget is within 5% of the construction budget
If -support and take ownership for strategic project work
If -can influence the scheme for the procurement to become more effective
-create a positive change environment to effectively engage other property services managers
-identify savings that are sustainable and used on other projects
